YOu can also solve this problem by: Divide 190 by 81 which equals 2.35 Then just simply multiply 2.35 by 2.1% which equals 4.92% And Travis You should also have 4.92% Your Decimal is in the wrong place
I agree with both Travis and Jamir. Personally, cross multiplying fractions is easier so I would undergo Travis' process (2.1/81 = x/190) to find X but since the one "base" number (px number) almost doubles the other, the answer would look more like Jamir's of 4.92 and not 49.2.
i agree with everyone, you set up a proportion: 2.1/81=x/190 so the equation would be: 81x=399 then, you divide both sides by 81: 81x/81=399/81 So,81x/81 becomes 1, which is just x and 399/81=4.92592 Final Answer: x=4.9% [<-rounded off]

I set up a proportion to solve this one.

Cross multiply, and you get:
81x=399
Then you get
Divide out, and you should get 49.2% inflation?
I don't think thats right, but any ideas?

and then multiply with the last number which is 2.1. So 2.35 x 2.1 = 4.92
So the blurred out percentage would be 4.92%
